Steven Kerbaugh is an associate with Anthony Ostlund Baer & Louwagie P.A. Mr. Kerbaugh joined the firm as a summer associate in 2008.  He represents clients in a wide range of commercial disputes, including shareholder, business tort, corporate governance and contract matters. 

Professional Activities

Mr. Kerbaugh is licensed to practice in Minnesota federal and state courts.  He is a member of the Hennepin County Bar Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association.  Mr. Kerbaugh is currently a member of the Hennepin County Bar Association Finance and Planning Committee.

Education

Mr. Kerbaugh earned his B.A., summa cum laude, with political science departmental honors, from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire in political science and French. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School, magna cum laude, in 2009. He further attended l’Université Jean Moulin (Lyon III) in Lyon, France, where he earned a Diploma in International and European Law after completing coursework emphasizing European and international corporate, contract and intellectual property law.

While in law school, Mr. Kerbaugh worked as a legal writing instructor for first year law students, served as a student attorney at the University of Minnesota Law School Civil Practice Clinic, volunteered through the Minnesota Justice Foundation at the Fourth Judicial District Self-Help Center, and participated in the International Moot Court, for which he earned awards for legal writing and oral advocacy. Mr. Kerbaugh also spent time during law school as a law clerk for a publicly traded software company, SoftBrands, Inc.  He further served as an extern for the Honorable Franklin L. Noel, United States Magistrate Judge, District of Minnesota.

Community

Mr. Kerbaugh is an active volunteer in his Community.  He undertakes pro bono representation of victims of domestic violence through his volunteer work for the Safety Project, a resource available through the Tubman agency.  He enjoys serving as a volunteer judge for high school mock trial, and law school and college moot court competitions.  He also devotes his time to homelessness advocacy and outreach through his volunteer work for the Basilica of Saint Mary and Downtown Congregations to End Homelessness, an interfaith effort comprised of 15 downtown Minneapolis synagogues, churches and mosques.
